Riding Lessons

Riding Lessons are available for ages 5+ and run about an hour long.

Lessons are $60

EVERY STUDENT will learn:

  • How to properly and safely retrieve, handle, groom, and tack up each horse prior to getting in the saddle.
  • Identify anatomy of the horse, the equipment, and what their functions and purposes are.
  • Basic English/Dressage foundation of riding a walk, trot, canter; turning, halt, emergency procedures, as well as more advanced cues as the student progresses.
  • Lessons are tailored to the individual student based on their level of experience as well as their confidence.
  • In addition, they will be expected to learn how to care for their lesson horse; i.e., post-ride grooming, feeding, cleaning the equipment used during their lesson, and stall management (cleaning).

Every student is expected to learn to work and handle their lesson horse independently after some time. Building a bond and understanding communication with the horses starts on the ground and travels into the saddle. This also builds confidence in the rider being around horses and becoming more comfortable around them.

We are not a competitive show barn, but there will be opportunities to attend and compete at local shows.

Riding helmets are available and will be provided if you do not have your own.

You will need to have and bring a sturdy boot with a proper heel. No tennis shoes/sneakers, crocs will not be permitted for safety and liability.
